Testimonials

Dic Donohue

The Winchester VFW Post 3719 and The Town of Winchester had the distinct honor and pleasure of having Dic as the keynote speaker on Veterans Day of 2013. Though still in substantial pain and suffering from the trauma of the events of April 2013, Dic took the time to speak to his community. His harrowing and compelling tale of treachery and triumph is one that should be heard by every American. His ability to move and inspire his listeners is a unique skill possessed by only a few.

It was an honor to have Sgt. Donohue as our guest speaker at the Reading Police Academy Recruit Officer Class graduation ceremony. Listening to him speak of his experiences was inspiring and motivating, something no amount of training or textbooks would be able to give our class. I take the advice and wisdom Sgt. Donohue passed along to myself and the other new officers with me to work everyday. I hope Sgt. Donohue is able to continue to inspire those who have the privilege to meet him or hear him speak, particularly others in law enforcement.

We invited Dic Donohue to share his personal experience with the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon and the events in the days after. His story of strength and courage was a great example of leadership for our student-athletes, and shed light on the importance of all of the roles played that day. We were honored he was willing to share his story with us and it will have a lasting impact on the student-athletes.
